Obama (Sorry I Just Can't Help Myself!)

I just needed to share my happiness about Obama being re-elected. It truly gives me hope that the social issues in the States will continue to move forward.  So many important issues, that personally affected me and my family and friends were highlighted this election.

• Me and my fellow American woman maintaining control over our bodies. 
• My gay and lesbian friends gaining the right to marry.
• Appropriate health care for the elderly, like my diabetic grandmother . 
• Funding for education, both support for teachers and opportunities for students.

It was extremely important to me, that I still vote while being in Indonesia. Thank God for the Absentee Ballot and the internet. Unfortunately I was sick (yet again) and home from school. However it was fortunate by way, that I could watch Obama  give his speech live and I could relish in my happy tears privately. These things are labeled as social issues, where they should be given rights and not considered issues at all.

We have come so far as a nation. It was not so long ago that our marriage (as vampire and witch)
would not have been legal!
